# 432 Bill 60 - Bike lanes on St.Laurent should be safe

Bill 60 does not remove the councillor’s ability to advance the broader St. Laurent Transit Priority Corridor, but it complicates the delivery of the segregated cycle tracks residents expect.

The ward councillor’s effectiveness will be measured by how well they communicate the constraints, secure the best possible compliant designs, advocate for local flexibility, and keep the overall project moving.

This election vote for a councillor that actually cycles.

Vote differently, vote wisely, vote for Peter Karwacki for Rideau Rockcliffe

  1. If the City published a transparent list showing exactly where the St. Laurent cycle tracks and Highway 417 multi-use pathway stand under Bill 60 (minor redesign, more significant change, or compliant as-is), public engagement in Ward 13 would almost certainly rise. Residents and local candidates would have a concrete issue to discuss instead of an information gap. The current high-level reporting keeps the conversation quieter and more generalized.
