A Friendly Challenge to Councillor King
Public court. Public rules. Every dollar to Roots and Culture Canada.
I've spent a lot of this campaign writing about transit oversight, police accountability, and a $95-million landfill purchase. Necessary work, but not exactly a barrel of laughs.
So here's something different.
I'm challenging Rawlson King to a pickleball match — winner takes nothing but bragging rights. Every dollar raised goes to Roots and Culture Canada, a local organization doing real work supporting Black seniors, families, and youth in Ottawa. Not a cent to either campaign.
Why pickleball? It's fast, it's accessible, and half of Rideau–Rockcliffe seems to have picked up a paddle in the last two years.
The invitation is open. If the Councillor would rather play tennis, I'm flexible — I just want a court, a net, and a chance to raise some money for an organization doing good work in this city.
Details on donating and RSVPing to follow. I'll post an update once I hear back.
