Dogs and Mayors

I am sympathetic.  As a dog owner for many years i confess that on occasion, with no one else around my dog may have been unleashed.  

A vigilant neighbor reported this...and I was sent a note, friendly enough  from bylaw.

I approached my neighbor and asked them if they had reported me.

Rather than answer directly they expressed shock that I had accused them.

But I said I had not accused them, I had merely asked if they had done it, eliciting either a yes or no answer.

What I got was ...

Silence.

So such is the detent between dog owners and non dog owners.

Now, while bad dog ownership behavior is frowned upon we have the same problem calling out our politicians.

Did you know that Jim Watson, former mayor, was found to have egregiously betrayed the public trust...and was subsequently given a medal, the Order of Ottawa, by Mayor Suttcliffe?.

Obviously, whether dogs or mayors, things are complicated.
