Mobile Campaign Office

Meet the Peter Karwacki 2026 Campaign for City Council!

Ready to connect with residents across Overbrook, New Edinburgh, Manor Park, Rockcliffe Park, and the entire Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward!I’m running a lean, efficient, people-first campaign with two practical assets that let me reach every neighbourhood:

My Mobile Campaign Office — a fully equipped Pleasure-Way Lexor-TS camper van that serves as a rolling headquarters for meetings, literature, and on-the-spot conversations.

Plus my quick-setup blue 10x10 pop-up canopy tent — featuring my name prominently on the banner. It creates a welcoming, weather-protected campaign booth at parks, markets, community events, and busy corners.
Come say hello!
I’ll be out with the van + blue canopy at community spots, Beechwood Market (Saturdays), parks, and events all summer and fall. Stop by, share your priorities for Rideau-Rockcliffe, grab literature, or sign up to volunteer.
Fiscal responsibility. Practical solutions. Real neighbourhood voices.

  2. Politics is not about winning!

When I lived in Kenora, my father used to go to council meetings and berate the elected for their foolish decisions. They used to cringe at even the thought of his vetbal barages. I went to a few meetings with him and it could be appauling to hear him calling them to task.
Later I had my own struggle with council. I was almost struck by a school bus on the road…now known as Rocky Heights Road. I asked the town to remove a boulder at the side of the road to permit traffic. What did the town do? It entirely stopped servicing the road.

In the interim, while my neighbors watched, I filled potholes and added gravel. Nobody helped, nobody.

Finally I filed a small claim court case against the town for my labour. The city counter sued in District Court in defense.

The road was a common access road which had been maintained by the town for over 30 years. The town had set its precedent. The land itself was owned by my father.

    What happened?

I presented my case to the District court Judge using research I had done though municipal world magazine and jurisprudence. The judge negotiated that my father would sell the road to the town and the town would maintain the road.

The judge congratulated me on my case preparation, my father was about $15,000 richer.

Later I ran for mayor earning about 900 votes in a losing cause.

My mother had run, and lost, my father had run and lost but subsequently ran for a council seat and was acclaimed.

Later I ran for council in Ward 13, Rideau Rockcliffe in Ottawa and lost both times. I write polemics and opinion pieces in local online blogs. I am running again starting May 1,2026.

The point of the exercise is not to win. The point is to inform voters of their choices and options. The voter who is aware of their options will hopefully chose the best candidate, and with the best candidate the ward, theoretically should have the best representation possible.

Heaven help those timid others should I win.
