OVERBROOK - A great little neighborhood

Corner of Donald and Margaurite

Unlike some streets in Ottawa Margaurite does not have a sidewalk on both sides. In some cases the shoulders are in disrepair.

One of the jobs of the local politicians is to see that residents are happy with their road services.

Cummings Bridge

This is an important link for the community. The bridge needs to accommodate cars, trucks  cyclists and pedestrians.

The Role of councillors is to help make change happen in a way that suits the community.

Riverain Park

This is a unique aspect of Overbrook. It is a place of calm and introspection, a habitat that fosters feather, fowl and fur. It must be protected and preserved.

Carriage houses

Being proximal to the university properties are being developed to extend housing opportunities for students and seniors looking for lower cost options.

Good fences make good neighbors

Many of the homes are non conforming with current standards. We have to work to optimize things within the new framework while not exerting unworkable overhead on long time residents.

Proximity to Parliament Hill

The ward has land that has not been used optimally and now faces development pressures. You can see the peace tower clearly at the corner of Donald and Quill.  How long will it be  before the potential of Overbrook and Vanier are realized?

Overbrook and Vanier are both within walking distance to downtown Ottawa.

Ecofriendliness is more important than ever.

We need to encourage and facilitate sustainable practices in all aspects of every day living.

Encourage Community Art Projects

It is not easy earning a living as an artist. We know that art makes life living. We need to encourage and facilitate our community artists.

Adawa Footbridge

What a great idea this was.  Not only did it make things better for existing residents, it helped introduce others to the area.  We love this bridge...it sparks joy.

Cyclists are good for business

We attract bikers. They like to eat a lot, they are quiet, and they do not pollute.  We will be successful by building a cycle friendly community.  A cycle friendly city is a people friendly city.
